What is a Village Appraisal?
A village appraisal
is a unique survey of our community that looks at aspects of the local
area and local life. It gathers facts and opinions from local residents
and helps to formulate actions for future development of the village and
its community.
Through closely
examining past and present village life, village appraisals can help us
make informed plans for our village future. Village appraisals gather
together all the relevant information that will help with this process,
most commonly through the use of a questionnaire. These questionnaires
which are completed anonymously, are usually distributed to every
household and ask for residents opinions on any issues that are
important to the community such as a new housing development or a lack
of local recreation facilities.
The village
appraisal allows everyone the opportunity to voice their opinions on
matters that they personally feel are important. It is carried out by
the village, for the village and gives the community the chance to be
dynamic and actively involved with their future.
Please support the future of your
village.
